0/1 Gauge or 4 Gauge?

I am getting ready to install a Hifonics Brutus BX1500D Amp and a 15" Brahma Sub. My question is should i use 0/1 Gauge wiring or would 4 Gauge be fine?

depends on how much more is the 0/1 gauge...if its a shitload more then just do 4 gauge...

i have 2 4 guage wires running from battery to distroblock and from that 1 8 guage running to 4 chan amp and 1 4 to a hifonics...works fine

if you can get 0/1 for close to the same price or a little more then do it so you don't have to upgrade later on...

0/1 gauge won't fit in a BX1000D. Atleast I don't think it will? I know all that fits in 1000D's is 4 gauge cause mine hardly fit. Make sure before you go buying any.

The Hifonics BX1000D only supports up to 4 guage wire inputs. If I were you I would see how much more the 0/1 guage is and if its not more than just run that to the amps location and then get a distrobution block and run 4 guage wire from the distro block to the amp. I myself though have 4 guage running to amps location and 8 guage wire to each amp, and I havent had a problem with it yet.

the 1500 only accepts 4 gauge as well... however you could run thicker gauge until a few feet before the amp.

just shave down some of the wire, or get a plug or connector that is 1/0g and run it that way

run 1/0 to a distro block, then run a 4 to the hifonics amp...since it accepts 4 as the biggest size...that will be fine...make sure you fuse it too

b/c if he isn't, there's no need for the bigger gauge.

No i dont plan on adding another amp in the near future. So i think i will just go with 4 gauge.

if you think that you might ever want to upgrade anything in your system....then go with the 1/0 gauge to a distro....then 4 gauge to the amp. now with doing all this *i'm running the BX1500D and a Audiobahn 8002T* currently have 2 runs of 4gauge, 1 for each amp,

could that simply run of one 4gauge to a disto that puts out 8gauge *what i have somewhere* or should i stick with the 2 runs of 4,

upgrade to 2awg at the very minimum...and split it off at a distribution block at the amps.
