HT sub box question... contains some thoughts on ABC boxes.

Your best bet is to hit up http://www.hometheaterforum.com If someone there doesn't know the answer, then you probably imagined the whole thing. That's the most knowledgeable group I've ever seen. I could spend days just reading through some of the posts, or looking at the pictures of various...

    What Octane Do You Use?

I run 94 octane w/ STP Octane Booster whenever possible. In a pinch I'll run 93, but nothing below that. Boost = fun.

    Nakamichi CD-500 Head Unit

In the first image, I believe it is just the flash from the camera causing the color to look washed out. Nakamichi has always had some incredible SQ, but has suffered from build quality issues in the past. From what I've heard about the CD-400, that seems to be a non-issue now.

    im in love(big pics)

****, Warren, if I would've seen that amp for sale two weeks ago, I'd have bought it. $300 is a steal for that beast! Can't go wrong with a W7 and 1000/1 amp. Looks pretty solid.

    Let's talk texture...

The stock CD player in my Buick is terrible - it skips constantly and lacks pre-outs, like most other OEM stuff. But it's 1 1/2 DIN, thus making it a pain to replace without it looking awkward. I want to build a new console/dash for my car with fiberglass, using a similar look to the existing...

Any of you guys seen this? DIY speaker cable..

OFC wire is OFC wire. The differences between one set of cables and another is the insulation and connecting ends. I bought some KnuKonceptz RCAs last year and was shocked at how poor the connectors were, as they ripped off at the slightest snag. Maybe I just got a bad set, but I won't buy...

    cold weather + systems = ???

This topic comes up every November/December. The general concensus is always the same - let your stuff warm up for a bit, then you'll be fine. If you live in an extremely cold environment (-20C or below for much of the winter), make sure your battery is up to the job, because cold weather puts...

JL Audio 13W7: Sealed or Ported?

I agree that it's better to go with an amp that will do your desired power at 3ohm, but there aren't many of those. A decent number of amps are stable below 1ohm, but there is still concern about overheating with those.

    JL 10w7 owners in here

Can't go wrong with PG amps. I'm planning to get a PG Tantrum 1200.1 for my 12W7 in a month or so. Then it'll be time to build a new ported box.

    2/0 1/0 wire question

Yes. 2/0 is quite thick. That's what I have sitting in my garage, waiting for the day I actually need it.

Saw a Death Penalty 15 being built.

Something about 4awg wire inside the amp makes me think it's a wee bit underrated.

    Best Stock System

The new Ford GT comes with an optional McIntosh system. I've obviously not heard it (I'd rather listen to that sweet engine anyway), but I imagine it sounds pretty awesome.

Mach 460 removal 02 GT questions

Well, if the setup is the same as from my '98 Mustang, then you'll have to make or buy new mounting brackets (not sure if anyone sells them) for the rear speakers. However, it's really not necessary to have rear speakers in the Mustang. If your front stage is well done, you won't even notice...
