2025 f150 supercrew build?

Ok guys, another one, last one & im done....;)
This one may go in stages, atleast thats what im thinking.
Do a underseat sub enclosure, with the stinger mt2000 to power whatever subs & maybe another audio control d-6.1200 & DSP the stock speakers for the time being, upgrade door speakers later whenever I decide what route to go with them.
These stock speakers sound surprisingly good compared to the B&O system I recently head in a previous year f150 platinum I had as a rental last week....

So many prefabbed sub enclosure options & seems like everyone has a different opinion on what sounds best...
Doing a seat lift wouldnt be the end of the world but will most likely try to avoid as not looking to go extreme,
Forward firing 8's vs down firing dual 10's?
Some of the prefabbed builders only make sealed option vs others offer the option to port.
Dont think ill do high dollar subs this go around, its the chicks ride & dont think she will notice the difference even though im going to attempt to enjoy this build as much as my own.
I sent out a bunch of email this morning trying to figure out who's running 5/8 mdf vs 3/4 mdf.
Soundskin is running 3/4 for sure
Offering quad 8 ported firing forward, dual 10's down firing sealed, dual 12 down firing sealed or ported.

Fox Acoustic makes dual 10 ported down firing & dual 8 forward ported.

Supercrewsound offers dual 10 ported or sealed, emailed them to figure out if its 5/8 or 3/4 mdf

Skar & ground shaker offer a handful of configurations & certain its most likely 5/8 mdf.
Have read some reviews that the forward firing skar boxes have been coming apart & the tune frequencies seem high to my uneducated observation.
Skar say the quad 8 is their best seller over all other configuration options.

Or am I dumb for leaning towards a 10 vs a 12?

Ok, my head hurts....

Whats the height x width x depth available?

Is the floor flat or are there things to work around?

Last F150 I did that comes to mind had limited height and used 6.5" subs. The owner was adamant "no seat lifts".

I think I consulted on one with 3 kicker L78s last week and it had a 2" lift. It was shelled in prior to final determination of # of subs/tuning. The shop initially called Kicker for suggestions and the port area/length in the supplied airspace was typical Kicker... 46hz with excessive port area. But the shop had NO idea.

I remember driving over then looking at the actual enclosure, running numbers /w/ Torres on the spot and coming up with a single side fire 6" port about 17" long for a 33hz tuning.

Space makes bass, even the 6.5's would have liked a slight seat lift iirc.

Heres some box specs off ground shakers page, I havent measured yet & truck is gone...
for 2 down firing 10's
Im not against a seat lift, easy enough to install theyre about $200 but just seems like theres plenty of options to get good sound im assuming without.

DIMENSIONS:

-FRONT HEIGHT: 7 1/4”

-REAR HEIGHT: 5 1/4"

-LENGTH: 55"

-TOP DEPTH: 13 3/4"

-BOTTOM DEPTH: 11”

-CUTOUT DIAMETER: 9 1/4"

Some specs off the Fox acoustic dual 10" down firing box
F150-SC-210-V-09
2009+ FORD SUPERCREW
2-10" VENTED SUB BOX
AIR VOLUME: 2.15 CUBIC FEET
DIVIDED: NO

Subs with larger frames will require trimming by the installer.
MOUNTING DEPTH: 6.25" WITH A 7" DIAMETER MAGNET

down firing box
That fact is all the info I need to say wtf
Downfiring enclosures lose output by design.
Pull some measurements, Last F150 underseat enclosure I dealt with in person was a fab stacked chinese puzzle with just enough side panel area for a round. 2" lifted and shelled, stack fabbed or glassed in. Like I said it was done right but barely could be designed around. The owner had 4 subs and wanted 4 installed. After some back and forth 3 were decided upon. Nevermind Kicker's recommendations. Absolute garbage.

I remember a fabricated disaster done well but barely enough room for porting. All those seatbelt notches and allowances for floor clearance made the airspace he created with a seatlift almost moot.

I love modern Ford trucks... haha

Yeah, not interested in kicker...
ill take some pics & measurements, the underseat area is pretty big & overall clean with minimal obstruction..

Briefly discussed a potential build with my installer & he did say he prefers an up firing box in this application while we were just casually taking when I picked up my sons finished ranger,
But dont think were doing 2 forward firing 10's even with a seat lift.

supercrew sounds makes a up-firing single 10 box, almost looks to wide for 2 butted side by side.
Not against having something made....
But theres many mindsets, like some feel 4 8's may not sound very impressive, my installer being one of them...

I know MBenclosures the brags to the the 8 guru along with subxsounds
my installer makes boxes too, was just trying to keep cost down.....

Me either but as an example its useful. You've provided no info on gear but went on a fishing trip for recommendations like most... haha. I'm only asking questions that may or may not apply... without hands on, legitimate guidance is impossible. What gear are you leaning towards? Or is it a fishing trip?

It’s always a fishing trip for me, I like to hear my options…
Don’t have that luxury.
Ide say ground shakers measurements are pretty accurate.
Im not against a seat lift, simple enough to install & LMI has a 2.5" lift for $190
just wish I knew what all these various configurations, firing direction & size sounded like...
Thats the hard part for me....

Ooh... I see about 2.5ft3 available maybe more. 2-3 8's or maybe a pair of 10s look very doable. I'm no salesman so brand or gear recommendations ain't my thing but I would wager a pair of serious 8's could do some work in that space. Don't discount what a pair of 8s in the right enclosure can achieve. I do this all the time.

Anyone have any thoughts on this box?
Emailed them to figure out if its 5/8 or 3/4 mdf...
from the pic, ide guess 5/8
Im questioning the air space theyre claiming, 1.25 cf per sub.
Seems larger spec than similar boxes.
Seems large than the recommended air space ive seen on various subs?

I think the cuft is close to accurate, but it's tuned to 37hz, which is on the high side.

According to the guys over at CT, they claim the box is way to large for only 2 CT Stratos, Tropos, or Mesos....
They claim that volume is better suited for 4, unless theres a calculation error somewhere, over my head/

Im still trying to convince myself that forward firing 2 smaller fullsize 8's is the better route than 2 10's down firing.
Ive read that & few have commented that forward firing is best & downfire sounds muffled & inefficient.
That being said, were always bouncing sound off of walls, firing subs against rear hatches, etc, how is this any different.

I dont like doing trial & error, especially with a big purchase like a few subs & a box....
That being said, I know people who have had down fires & they claim it sounded great!

heres a dual 10 sealed down fire, they have ported also....
