All im going to say is it cranks, just got it back, even more so than my high dollar system....
Went with
cheap Recoil red1800.5 amp, $179 reg price & I paid $79
980 watts going to the 2 subs, dont have it wired down to 1 ohm, no reason to work the amp that hard.
220 watts going to ea driver.....
Cdt 62-hd, running them active crossed over through the amp, not using supplied crossovers that came with speakers.
2 Hertz mps 250 10" subs...
Kenwood Exeleon dmx908s
The box took up the entire width of the rear cab area...
We decided to trim the back wall plastics which had rear speaker mounts, more room for the box...
Happy with the decision even though could have been louder with the rear fill possibly?
My mind set was since its such a small cab, rear fill would have taken away from the sub separation.
Sound pretty amazing for not having all high-end equipment & loud...
Happy with the sound & son is beyond stoked....
Thanks to everyone who helped answer all my stupid questions,
This installer spoke his mind about the Recoil while we were discussing the install, but at the end of the day when all said & done he was surprised...
A though that crossed my mind, no idea if it would be good or bad for sound quality...
Theres alot of utilized power left in the amp im sure we can install another driver of some sort in the doors & possibly get some more loudness out of it.....
The kid is already messing with the EQ adjustments, playing with the built-in eq presets, etc...
Was really overthinking the subs, had to go shallow mount & so many great brands out there.....
I have hard time spending money & not being able to demo some brands out there which im sure would have cost less & possibly sounded better or just as good...
End of the day, the Hertz MPS 250's I know are in the upper range & not really a budget sub, not disappointed with the decision & sound quality.
Big bonus, zero rattles, not one....
