Hi, my new 24 expedition xlt is arriving this weekend and I’m starting to grab my equipment. I’m still trying to decide on my sub. The factory sub enclosure is not totally perceived as terrible and can be slightly modified to take a slightly beefier. The jl stealth is dope But I don’t want a jl sub nor do I want to spend 1399$ for a thin low power handling sub. Anyone by chance down any builds on a newer expedition or have a recommendation. I’m either going to use an American bass es1044 slim sub or a incriminator audio ia10.

Yeah my research had me between the dd sl610, the ssa demon, the ab es1044, or the ia10. The dd was the most expensive option( and for likely good reason), the ssa is a tad too deep, and the ab looks like a decently built value ab but the ia10 is likely the winner as they 104$ new shipped right new and they’re technically a full size sub.

I’m leaning toward building an enclosure shaped similar to the factory enclosure but not fully decided so I know I have the 4.75 in the factory enclosure.

I would go with the factory sub for a period of time. Try tuning the sound using the equalizer on the head unit. Step 2 would be to listen to the options for upgrade, before spending a lot of money.

To clarify, the factory sub is a factory unit from a limited trim which is factory amplified. It will be placed in the factory location in my xlt but I will utilizing aftermarket amps to power everything(oem headunit/disply to dsp)

At this point I’ve decided to build/buy once so I’m going to build or have an enclosure built that is reletively similar in shape/size to the factory enclosure
