Indecisive, Sealed or Ported, Opinions?

Another option is to do a trunk baffle instead of a box.

If you keep the skars I'd go ported. They don't make anything that'd do great sealed so you'd just be sacrificing output for nothing imo

Those Alpines are really nice but I think either dayton ultimax or sql-12's would give more bang for buck

Or should I bite the bullet and spend more and get two 12” Type R Alpine Subs
I can't speak for Skars, but I can say that the Type R can hit pretty damn hard in a sealed box. I have two in a box sitting in my garage (replaced with a different setup) that are sold and being picked up soon. They were powered by a B2 amp.

Ported vs sealed: I prefer sealed for the flatter response, as I'm more a music listener than a dB goal chaser.

Sooo still between sealed and ported... Ported requires a lot more room. I feel like I could be able to fit a bigger sealed box that may play flat and lower, just afraid to loose any sound that is mainly prefered with ported since I've never heard a sealed box before.

If it's possible man...try to find somewhere where you can listen to different setups before buying.
