I bought an old Pioneer sub that has that peeling issue where the fabric mesh shows through. I scraped off the remaining skin and the mesh gave it a light gray look that looked nice. I sprayed it black but now am thinking of doing it light gray after seeing this Bass Blaster sub.
Speaking of logos, I wonder if anybody has ever on their own deciphered what the Adire Audio Brahma logo is?I don't like any logos on dust caps
True. This is one of Pioneer's best subs and I rate it at OK. It is the one that did not use a spider but instead used double foam surrounds. The deep lows sound great but not alot punch. May be my amp settings or the tiny sealed box but it is the recommended size with plenty of polyfill.
Cerwin Vega has some red surrounds.
To me it still looks like a bulldog wearing Oakleys and a scarf. Still cannot see that bull.
Yes, I planned on doing the same but thought about the results and decided against it. I have seen MANY Pioneers with this issue but never seen the peeling go past the mesh, so I let it be.
I did get it smelling a couple of times but turned it down right away. Even though it is a temporary sub I do not wish to kill it. I can sell it cheap to a newbie later on (maybe). Last year I finally sold an old DB Drive Platinum sub I had been holding for years and the guy's wife burned it out within two weeks. I installed it and set the gain for him telling him to NEVER go past the volume we used for set-up. I got the carcass back. Made me a bit sad seeing it like that.
The thing is they put too much detail in the logo. Something simple like the Bulls logo would have sufficed IMO.
Look at that, the surround is blue on the inside. Bad call on not keeping it all blue.
Looking at is from multiple angles, that could be jus about anything you want it to be. I can even see a tiger coming out of the bushes.Is that not a bee or wasp about to take flight?
