Not only it's a pos, you don't even have the front stage to keep up with it. 🤣

anyone have any comparison thoughts, Hertz pro series three-way components versus focal flax?
Hertz also makes a shallow sub similar to the JLTW3

I'd go with a "standard" sub as mentioned earlier, unless you're determined to use the behind the seat enclosure. If you're going with the behind the seat enclosure, I'd wait until they have the specs out for the enclosure. You need to know net airspace, tuning frequency and port area. If those enclosures are designed for Image Dynamics ID subs, then the might not perform well with high Q designs. I think you'd be better off using the underseat enclosure.

I pretty sure taco tunes just re-label all the Image Dynamic stuff, but my guess is the behind the seat eclosure will take a full size sub...
I think im passed that at this point. I already have the box for the 12" tw3...

Do you have any experience with Hertz Millie pro Series 3 way components compared to Focal flax?
Pretty-much just got home & just sat down to research this.
Im not familiar with Hertz.
Theres a shop near me that will install & sell everything but they're showroom is mostly upper tier stuff, Hertz, Helix, Audison....
He's claiming sound quality is better on the hertz pro's over the Focal Flax.
Also has a Hertz 12 shallow sub.

Both sets are good. I'd take the Hertz over the Flax. The Focals will be the sharper sounding set, especially tweeters.

The subs are very similar. Depending on the enclosure, I might go with one or the other. If you're going with the GS underseat enclosure, I'd lean toward the JL.

Focals sharper as in brighter tweeters?
I always have my treble cranked as I like the exaggerated sound, but this system will be different….
I don’t like Options…😬

Install and location can make any cheapo speakers shine, spend more and still eat the effort for minimal gains w/o cabin work... jmo. If you want real reproduction buy within your budget but never forget staging and preparation. Location and deadening count more than any esoteric hi-dollar brand. Jmo

Good point. And if he's doing the install himself and willing to spend hours upon hours figuring out where to mount and aim drivers, he'd probably looking at the cheaper DIY options we'd look at.

No pricing yet but here’s some pictures and options for the Taco Tunes enclosure behind the seat. Single 10 ported, single 12 ported, dual 10 ported, all boxes are 1.35 ft.³ of airspace.

The dual 10 peaks my interest ….
But no specs really given other than one .35 ft.³ of airspace, the claim, and you can install a subwoofer that is not a shallow mount.

just text TT, he's claiming 5.6" mounting depth.
Can do a 1 fullbody 10 or 12...
if you do 2 10's, need to go 2 shallow mounts, no partition, 1 port.
"more info coming soon"

If you really like that rear seat enclosure, then I'd probably go dual 10s and plug the port. Look at pole vented subs (hole in the bottom of the magnet/motor) that are ~5" or less in depth. Or look at subs that don't have vented motor up to 5.5" deep (ie Sundown shallow mounts). Alpine Type S comes to mind. I think Anthony has a pair of them for sale on here. The Alpines also have the multi-roll surround which creates a little more space in front of the sub. Sundown has a few shallow mounts that would work too.
