How important is it for the ground from block to chassis? I got a big 3 kit (ofc) and have been installed battery to alternator and battery ground to chassis. At the time I installed it, I got lazy and never installed the second ground which would be from block to frame/chassis. How important is this ground? Ive got good voltage but when full tilt, I can drop down to 10-11 volts. I run a steady 14.5 and even up to 14.8 at idle. I have a diehard agm and an after market 200 amp alternator. Plan is to upgrade alternator to 320 amp. Amps are Ct Sounds 2000.1 and Nvx vad8402.

Only one I haven't done yet is batt to chassis, I've done my batt to engine block. But I've got dual batts under hood with dual factory batt to chassis grounds. I just don't feel like drilling into my frame right now to do the batt to frame runs.

Maybe when I take off my front bumper to replace the airbag sensor I'll do it.

To answer your question that's the 1 ground that completes the circuit from alt positive through load back to alt negative so I'd say it's fairly important

seems when weather coperates, that will be a priority to get done! Thanks.
you ever get that NVX box built?

I have a kind of unscientific test for grounds. If you take a wire and just temporarily touch it to the block and frame and you see a spark, that means there was some voltage difference between the two. You want everything to be at the same ground potential, so tying them together would do good things for any electronics using the frame as a ground.

If you don't notice any noise or other problems (sounds like you don't) I'd say you're fine and just leave it.

Probably not gonna get started on that till after the new years really end of February. Working 40hr work weeks right now makes money very tight especially for the holidays. 84hr work weeks come January means double money. I do still plan on building that box and kick myself for not getting the subs during Black Friday. They would've been basically buy 1 get one half off.

Taking care of maintenance on the truck and probably gonna go ahead and do a ho alt is a pretty high priority. Damn dieseld are expensive. Good thing is 2 truck notes left so no note come January.

All jokes aside, I figured it out. I took the plastic cover thing off of the negative battery terminal, and I can attach a new ground wire right...

Wow, kinda baffled here. Once you get the tune right. You don’t need to mess with it. However, A bad tune you will. You may have different type...
