taramp ds 440x4.. is this a good amp to use? i want to replace the 5 channel amp i have.

Its not a very powerful amp @4 ohms

are the ridged rolled surrounds better than the foam ones? is it worth going up a step higher than the xfl series or what would you recommend.

XFL Subs are dammned good subs for the money, I have the old foam surrounds in 10s,and 12s, and the newer version of both ribbed.Depending on where you get them.. some places still may have the older Pics of the foam surround due to not updating theyre site. Nine out of ten.. you will only get the new version/ ribbed, unless specified. They slamm in the right enclosure and power

amazon has the americanbass 1044 xfl 3000 watt, i can get 2 of them cheaper than i can the 1044 2000 watt. is there a particular reason you chose the 2000 over the 3000?

sorry about not replying yesterday, got home after work and laid on bed after shower and slept straight through. body must have needed it. both the speakers are xfl. i didnt know if there was a reason you picked the 2000 over the the 3000.. i thought maybe something wasnt worth the jump in power. i found some on walmart site. just waiting for the refund to hit and will probably pick up the 3000 w 2 ohms from there. amp should be here saturday. i may be able to get in my shipping container and work if the rain doesnt keep me inside. i just have to have a place to put everything if its raining. im gonna have to take a look at the false floor framing in the trunk, to see if there is a way to get the amps under it together. if not, then figure a way to mount them behind the sub box so i can get to them better. its a pain to pull up the floor now. i could maybe raise the floor again by the trunk opening and build an amp rack there. if you have any ideas i would be glad to hear them

ok, refund hit, so i went ahead and ordered 2 1022xfl 2 ohm 3000 watt american bass subs. should be here by wednesday. once i gut the trunk again, i will have a better idea of how the glue it and screw it box will fit and which one to order. just have to figure out the new skeleton of the false floor and if i want to raise it some more. i wonder if i aim the subs at the back of the seats if it would be better for mounting the amps above floor in the trunk

i need a solid 4 channel amp. i have the 5 channel now, but 100 watts is just for sound. im gonna need something that can hang with the monoamp and can work in the sentra. theres not a lot of room for big speakers, so i need some that will fit that will fill out the sound. i still have to pull the rear deck speakers and i figure the rear doors will be my best bet for replacements. i dont know of any how to remove the rear seat and put in some mids and replace the seat so it is still functional. still not a bad idea, just need to figure it out.

XFL Subs are XFL subs.. they get down for the money. Running 2ohms mono is no problem for them to move some air and create some really nice lows and bass for sure.Great sub choice and I know you will be quite happy..1000 rms ea. Ive had a single DVC4 12 take 1400 rms all day long. And in the 2.0 @32htz Screw and glue enclosure it is fantastic and can sound amazing @Low volume listening as well Great subs for the money for sure. I have never blown or seized up ANY American Bass subs that Ive bought and have and they always take 100-400 more clean power without any issues. Great subs for the money bar nun

A good compact 4 ch amp that I myself have and am running at the moment after pulling a PPI Phantom 900.4 is the CT sounds CT 150.4 of which is on sale at the moment. I paid premium price for mine, Its a little power house and runs clean also. Though I have an external EQ at the moment using an Earthquake 7000 but soon swapping with the CT Sounds I have to test out again in the vehicle rather than bench testing. Excellent 4 ch amp for the price and a nice space saver. Im really digging these amps and gear from CT Sounds so far for the money.Nice Customer Service too

I would take a look at the Polk MM series speakers Marine or non Marine. They are fantastic and very clean. The 6.5 will run from 35 DB on up giving you a little bass response tuned accordingly and the midrange is very nice and pretty clean and clear. Tweeters can be a little brite at times.. but with my Earthquake EQ you can blend them on the fly as well as the mids.. Midrange.. id look at a Dayton 6.5 or maybe CDT,Cresendo,JBL Selenium are really nice if they are still available. Even the Cheap Pyle Pro 6.5 from Parts Express are great cheap mids for the money

I would run the amps above floor and maybe even get a high CFM fan to keep things running cooler.Who says that amplifiers need to lay Flat? Get a little creative and not expensive and place a mounting board for the amplifiers to mount virt.Straight up or at a 22* or even a 45* pitch?Saves space and looks very nice as well

I would face the subs port rear sub rear in trunk space.I would secure the box on the inside with screws to false floor to keep in place as well as a clean look without the ugly L brackets on the outside and quite theft deterant. Amps can be mounted vertical on an amp board to save space rather than laying Flat

Really liked my Polk mm set. But, if running too much power, tweets will cut out due to the tweeter protection, same thing most cdt passive sets have. Drove me nuts . Other than that, nice set for sure.

Ileft mine @0 and played mine on an old school Autotek Mean Machine 99 and had excellent results. The EQ helped tune to keep this issue from happening, Sounded fantastic and I enjoyed them very well. I did have the tweets on my CDT Braxial 6.5s seemed like they would bottom out at times.. but again thats why I like to run an indash External EQ, cleans things up on the fly. Worth every penny spent and the time to put one in and adjustments to any song on the fly. I highly recommend to have one installed. Its like Night and day.

Once you run an External EQ. I dont think you would ever go back to just having a deck alone with a built in EQ.It doesnt have to be installed in the dash.. Ive even wedged one in between the driver seat so I didnt have to cut in a dash or hang/screw one under the dash even
