To fuse or not to fuse

I answered his fuse question already and he asked me why he needed a better sub amp. I answered his question. Is that a bad thing? He needs a little bigger amp. At least a 2K IMO.
If someone asks "should I use a fuse?", and you respond with "you need a bigger amp", you didn't answer his question.

I answered his fuse question kid. And then I told him that he could use a better sub amp. Having fun yet?

Well 257 amps would absolutely blow a 250 fuse, so you are wrong about that.

Even if you were correct, there's no need to comment on his amp. Not to mention, you asked him what amp he has BEFORE you commented on the fuse.

"Kid"? Are we back on the playground? Just because you're old enough to be my dad doesn't mean I'm your kid.

Well I assumed that he wanted to get the max out of his subs. My bad kid. Most bassheads who run H/O alternators and 1/0 wire usually want to get the max out of their system. Are you saying that Pop is wrong for telling him to run the 250a fuse?

I think you run shitty AB subs. Should I include that every time I reply to you or mention you? I assume you want to get the max out of your system.

Sure. My shitty subs take first place when I compete. I should've told him a bigger amp not a better amp. That was my fault. I need a bigger amp too. I'm thinking of switching to 4 - 10's on an 8K. I would use the same sub box.

Yes he is. He's probably clamping 500 watts max. His subs can take 1,200 watts rms. Therefore, he is under powering them. It's simple math kid.
No, he is not, he's just not maxing them out. If he is running the 10's they are 250-500w rms. What is your obsession with making people think they have to max their stuff out all the time? Maybe THIS person wants longevity out of this gear. Maybe this person wants bass but isn't interested, like you, in how they look to others.

OP, your amplifier is fine. Put in the alternator and do a Big 3 upgrade. Those subs should last you a very long time if your gain is set correctly. If you need louder bass it would be smarter to upgrade the subs and amplifier if and when you grow out of these subs. These subs do have limits for the pair, I know this because I run a pair.

Then why did he buy a H/O alternator and run all 1/0 gauge wiring for a 1,000 watt amp. Probably because he wants to have as much bass as possible. He is under powering them. He isn't even giving them the rms watts of the sub. If he's happy with that then that's all that matters.

It would be cheaper, it might be easier to find a place to mount it, and you would have a ton of options if you just do two, 3 slot fuse holders...

My bad, yes, I read them each as having two 4ohm coils. The JBL diagram left a bit to be desired, IMO. ;) And a double yes, thought U was talking...

I plan on getting the fuse to run as a front sub/midbass in my kick panels...I've heard they sound good but you definitely wont get mirror shaking...

Sounds like a bad ground or wiring problem on the 12v+ side.
