Amp wont power on unless volume 20 on stereo

Why does my JL audio 500 watt amp only power on when my stereo is turned up to volume 20... if I go below 20 after it powers on the amp powers off. I know its a power issue with amp because the power light turns on and off on amp at volume 20 and all I have to do is turn up volume on DVD deck to turn it back on... I know all my wiring is rite and it worked just fine with a kenwood single din but my pioneer double din DVD deck has to be at volume 20 for amp to get powered on... does my decks 2volt pre amp output have anything to do with this?

What are you using for a remote turn on wire? Or is it auto turn on with the signal?

I'm using a regular blue remote wire from an amp kit, and it's running to the blue and white remote wire on back of deck.....

You need to get a volt meter and see when there is +12V to that blue wire into the amp.

Could always just get some other 12v on key source like cig lighter for your remote.
