The remote hook up is meant for a weak 12v power source, preferably one that shuts off when key is off.
It will also work if you split your 'power wire', but you probably have to manually unplug it to shut the amp off.

I mean is this your first install? Or do you know what's up and still having this strange issue?

Yes my first but why is it that the only way I can get it to come bu putting half on the power and half on the remote side and I just undo the power and the remote to make sure my battery doesn't die

The power wire only runs to the power port. The remote wire is a separate wire ran to the back of the headunit to the blue remote turn on output or to the factory fuse block to an ignition fuse. Preferably with a relay to not create excessive draw on the factory fuse you are tapping into.

Your amp 12v+ is usually a thick wire, same thickness as your ground wire.

The remote input is a thin wire that is usually connected to a wire coming out back side of your aftermarket head unit.

Anyone you know that can wire up car stuff can hook you up with a small wire that gets power when the key gets turned.

Think of a wire that gets electrified when key gets turned. And run that wire to 'remote' on your amp.
