i peak at 38hz sealed on the dash

Peaks can be deceiving… for instance you see jakes peak is 57hz sealed….but opened up demoing does 160+ down into the 30hz range no problem….if it’s a burp only style vehicle peaking high that’s different then a ground pounder peaking high

I hear ya. Some of the people didn't even have mids/highs.

Is clamping 2,505 on a 3,500 watt good or bad? I don't know anything about clamping.
IMO it's great, especially if you can do that for playing music as well. Half bridge guys often have to wire down to really sketchy impedance loads to see big power numbers for burps. Generally speaking the only people who clamp rated power (or more) out of their amps are those who specific build for burp only and put in a lot of money, time, effort and testing to get there.

Again, it's not so much about winning first place, it''s about supporting the people that support the hobby. Also it's so that the one bloke that put in thousands of dollars and hours into doing 150dB with 500W has someone to be second and third place when they show up and win.

Top dog in my class up here is 5-6dB ahead of me (more if everything is working and he turns it up) but he doesn't always show up to the shows and sometimes the run fails from equipment faillure or something breaks on the first run and I can still come out on top. More exciting if you just find someone that you're close to in numbers and just get a friendly rivalry going against that one dude whether or not you're even in the same class.

This was one guy for example.
That's an impressive no-wall number for 7KW at any frequency. Tuning low would be very impractical in no-wall since you lose so much from panels flexing which is much more dramatic as you lower frequency. 160 at 30hz will just destroy the vehicle and if you weren't doing "extreme" mods from the start of the build you'd be doing so after the first time you turned it up.

We (Team OSC) are actually going to have a Bass Wars show at our venue in Dec, for a benefit drive. Everyone I have spoke with enjoyed the format, and the Org.

That's a little too far for me to drive. I went to school at UT-Knoxville back in the day on a baseball scholarship. Tennessee is a nice place to live. I was thinking of upgrading to a 5K on my 8's and see what happens.

Hey, kind of off topic, kind of not....
How do you guys find out about different shows from different organizers? Word of mouth? Is there a couple websites? Maybe some social media crap I need to follow?
Where I live in Northern California, even though the people are packed in like sardines (there are a lot of people that live here), there aren't too many shows/ competitions. Or at least any I know of. I'm just trying to get info on how to stay updated on dates and locations, if such a place exists.

You'll probably have to follow the Car Audio competition organizations like USACi, MECA, Bass Wars, etc...
