I want more bass. What should I do?

I can help you get lots of bass out of your woofers :devilish:
I know you build boxes so I was wondering what would be better? A box that is sealed with less cubic footage than recommended and 2 12s or a properly spaced box with the recommended cubic footage(possibly a bit more) as well as tuned and 2 10s?

If you're asking about 2 10's ported vs 2 12's sealed, 2 10's ported all day long.

I would figure your space, and fit the biggest ported setup you could. I'd rather have say a 1000 or 1500w 12 ported than 2 12's on the same power in a sealed, personally, to give you an example.

But it all depends on your ears. Sealed boxes just can't reproduce lows, like 35 or 30 hz and under like a ported box can. Sealed boxes have to usually be bigger than they need to be to resonate that low. Then you lose mechanical power handling, etc, ported just works every time because you can force the situation.

Oh okay thank you so much for info I appreciate it. I’ve been building sealed boxes now and I’ve been wanting to try building a ported box. So if it doesn’t work out you’ll hear from me. I also don’t want that to sound like I’m coming off rude. Thank you again!

If it is even possible also 2 10" ported will work as well as there is some 10" out there that don't take up a lot of space or depth and yet still hit good otherwise 2 8" or if possible at best 3 8". Minimum SFB 1K or a SFB 1.5K depending on the RMS of course.

Mounting depth on the 10's is the battle. 3- 8's would be tight, most want .75-1 cube each. I'm curious what it looks like behind his seat because most have a seat belt connector or electric window motor mount to notch around. His mounting depth is minimal, that's why I was thinking 4- 6-½'s.

I had a '92 S-10 with 2 MTX Blue Thunders in separate Truck boxes the ones they used from factory with the port built in. I had so much room behind my seat even with those I still had full leg room. But times have changed since then for the amount of room they give you I think in a single cab. Damn I miss that little S-10 2WD with the Vortec 4.3 man could that thing scoot especially with the headers, exhaust, cam upgrade and intake/injector upgrades, lol.

Idk best bet is to take pictures, measure it all out exactly and send it all to buck and see what magic he can do with it.

I've got mega room in my Dodge standard cab. Over 5 cubes with the seat all the way back, but Chevy's are a different animal though. The best that I've heard is 4- 6-½'s ported in a Chevy Standard cab.

Bro you were right I really was surprised by 2 8s literally the set up you mentioned earlier is in this video. He had two and it was making her hair move yours must make hair dance!🤣 by the way would I be able to run it with everything stock and 4 gauge?

Those 2 10" MTX Blue Thunders I had on a RF were loud and clear. This was back in '95 so 26 years ago also had boston acoustics 4x6s in the dash and the rear with a Pioneer CD deck and a small RF 4 channel. But cab's have changed since then and last time I did one in a Ford small extended cab it was tough doing 2 10" underneath the rear seat with the subs facing forward.

I would look at the SSA 8", the Sundown 8", the VFL 8" and a couple others. The SSA 8" has been getting great reviews from just about everyone who has had them installed. Tbh all of those sound decent I just won't buy AB anymore after buying these TNT's but the VFL's look like they have the better components in them as well unlike those TNT's. Just stay away from skarbage is all, lol.

Main thing like everyone says get the box right and ported & it should work for what you are looking for.

Told you bro, I've got 4 of them on a 3K with the big 3 and a 320 amp alternator. I broke my overhead console already. I've actually had people tap out and plug their ears and get out of my truck. And, they came in wanting 2 12's or 2 15's.

To be honest, I have a very large box for four 8's. I have over 4 cubes net after sub and port displacement. Plus, I have a small cab and 3,000 watts on them. But, two of them in a standard cab on 1,000 watts should get down. I got the VFL's because the mounting depth is about 5-⅜" with a good size magnet (120 oz.). And, they were only $110 each.

The only other 8's for your situation that I would look at are the F8L 8's, the SAV3 8's, or the VFL 8's. Mountimg depth is your kryptonite. You will probably need to build a tall wedge box. Like 8" bottom to 2-½" top to squeeze out all the cubes that you can. I would yell you to tune between 33-35 hz. Subs mounted low and port to the passenger side.

Thanks. That makes sense. It sounds pretty good as is.
