If you’re really wanting to run 2k to subs then you’ll need to do the big 3/4, get a good agm battery, and that might not be enough depending on how loud and long you listen to your music

The Sundown SFB lines are probably the best bang for your buck these days. Down 4 Sound is having a big sale on them right now. Just make sure that your electrical is straight.

Exactly. Actual true 2k to the substage (which is not the same as buying 2k amp but setting the gain/volume to where your really running half power) almost always requires beefy electrical upgrades, often of which aftermarket alternator.

True power is nice but it's not cheap (AGM battery, big 3, and aftermarket alternator can run you $1000 easily). If you don't want to go down that route then target a good custom box and subs that are more efficent

What subs? If you haven't purchased them yet, then, just get two DVC 4 ohm subs and run one amp. It will probably be cheaper and easier to tune.

Your enclosure is where you need to really focus. Amazing equipment in a sub par box means sub par performance. Would you build it or have someone build it?

I would do something along the lines of dual IDQ 12. Great SQ and enough output, especially since your running 2. They also work well both ported or sealed

2x12 is enough cone space to where you shouldn't have to chase peaky SPL based subs to get great output. More sound quality oriented subs in your price range like the IDQ or Dayton Ultimax would be great
