Should I upgrade my amp?

Current amp is an Orion Hcca5000.1dv2

My subs take 1500wrms each. I currently have two subs. Dual 1's wired to 1 ohm. I'm adding a third as soon as I finish building the box for three.

Questions:
1) will my amp tolerate a 2/3 ohm load?
1.5) if my amp will tolerate 2/3 ohms, will it make enough power to drive three 1500wrms subs?
2) would i be better off with a bigger amp0 1500wrms subs effectively?
3) amp recommendations?

You can wire 3 DVC 1 ohm subs to 1.5 ohms
https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/subwoofer-wiring-diagrams.asp?Q=3&I=12
That should give you 4300-4500 watts give or take.
That's 1400-1500 per sub.
You could upgrade it but you should be good with that.
If you think the amp could handle it you could also run it at .67 ohms but it would probably cut your amp life down considerably.
I know the old school ones could handle a beating but IDK about the new ones
They don't build them like they used to.

Can your electrical handle an upgrade? What subs? The HCCA8K would have more headroom and not be running as hard as the 5K. Major $$$$ though.

That was literally my first question.
Can your electrical handle an upgrade?
I think it can. I don't have any issues with over 5k currently and I'm happy with the output. I'm not necessarily looking for more power (though I'm not against it) as much as the same power at 1.5 ohms if my amp can't do .67.
What subs?
Adding a third Deaf Bonce 275 as soon as I finish building my new box.
Major $$$$ though.
No kidding. I didn't realize how much more expensive 8k's are verses 5k's. If I go bigger, it'll most likely be a Sundown SFB-8000D.

Thanks for the replies. I really hope someone chimes in who has ran a newer HCCA below 1 ohm. Upgrading amps is a last resort, as I've owned my 5k less than a year and don't want to assign it to closet-duty just yet!

I think what it'll really come down to is you just trying it. See if your amp works at that ohm load or not, just be careful. It seems to me a lot of amps will run under rated nominal ohm load, you just have to have the electrical to back it up.

I know competitors that play their stuff at .25 ohm on a 1 ohm rated amp, and it works. So it's one of those things, I think you're somewhat in experimental territory.
