I have not heard them so I can't make a decision, but willing to pay for something that sounds good. The bl figures look a little underwhelming to me but ppl rave about the xbl motors.
Thinking about running two of the Brahma 12s on 2,000 Watts just doesn't seem like a lot of juice to me but they say the motors need less power to get loud.

a cheaper alternative. This one's actually more beefy than the brahma, about 12lbs heavier. More moving mass so slightly less efficient but digs deeper. Same xmax as the brahma.

I believe xbl^2 motors sacrifice efficiency rather than taking less power to get loud.

Huffmans iron law says you get to choose only 2 out of the 3 and the last will suffer.

1. Small box
2. High efficiency
3. Low frequency extension.
That's the impression I got after looking at their parameters, honestly I think I'd be happier with something louder

the low end of the brahma is hard to describe....im considering moving mine to my home theater room and getting an Fi Q....i like a little mud on my low end for presence....the brahma hardly takes anything to get it moving, i had roughly only 300rms on it at one time and it was movin' and hitting those 30ish hz tones so smooothly, i dunno hard to describe, it just gets louder but keeps that smooth deep tone......overall is it worth the money, my opinion....no, FYI they have no problem hitting upper bass frequencies

I’m not saying they aren’t good in the upper frequencies but they may not perform as well in the upper range compared to other subs you may have experience with.

I just got this sub in the 10” version. Impulsive buying 🤦🏽‍♂️. Brand new but really have no use for it. If I was to keep it. Anyone have any opinion on what size box to house this thing in?

Sounds like two of the 12s would do well on music. Hmmm

Split gap and split coil designs trade some efficiency for linearity and low distortion. There's a guy local who owns some original Brahmas and has used them in a few boxes and 4th order wall. All of his builds with them have sounded fantastic. If you're looking for a 1000W sub that'll sound really good Brahma is a top choice.

I'm just concerned that 2000 Watts total on inefficient subs may not be loud enough as I tend to be hard on the volume knob.
I'm probably needing something more in the middle of SPL and SQ, I guess you could say I'm likely looking for the best sounding loud sub lol. I have ran several four subs sealed setups on high power and been happy with them but everybody says ported is the way to go with these new subs.
I'm still debating between 1:15 versus 2:12 s
A part of me loves the simplicity and better visceral impact of a single large sub setup as well. I know everyone raves about the SSA zcon and evil, I could run either and would probably be loud enough.

You'll want 2 subs to really hang with 2K on a pair of Brahmas, though you could probably bump up to 2500w and they'd be pretty safe unless you're really acting a fool. I don't think efficiency is as big a hit as you think it will be, Brahma should be about on par with any 4" coil or 3" 8 layer.

I have always ran multiples so I can push them a little harder and they stay cooler, more coil is always better.
If I did a single 15 I would go w a 3-5 k sub as it looks like my electrical will be plenty to do that, but I can't help but think the pair of 12s will sound better on music and run cooler.
I have even thought about running three SSA gcon 10s on a 3K amp which would match perfectly and have more coil while working well with my 4.5 cubes available.
It's a great problem to have deciding between awesome audio equipment lol

the evils wont be as loud as two brahmas. IMO. Zcon is nice but XBL^2 is superior sounding. I've owned the Zcons its good for an spl brand vs the rest of the cookie cutter stuff but the efficiency is so so. TC sounds 3hp and 4hp motors flat out destroy the Zcons on 2k rms vs the TCs bridged on a 4 channel amp is the level of efficiency of the motors we are talking about. You got off the shelf motor designs vs motor legends. There's no comparison the legendary motor structures got their name for a reason. They are just that much better. SSA subs are better SQ than other spl brands but no where near any kind of actual SQ. 4/10 at best
