Zapco crossover slope?

I just got 2 Zapco Reference amps and I can't find the spec for the crossover slope. It just says (Built in variable electronic crossover) The only thing I found was in the manual it gives different system examples and says "set crossover on Low @80Hz 12db" So my guess is it would be a 12db slope? If it is how is it going to sound? I've never owned an amp without a 24db crossover slope. From what I remember a 12db slope for the sub amp didnt sound too good but its been a few years so could someone help out here?

it's not about the slope that makes the sound. It is where you cross it at in reference to where ur mids cuts off so that you get full range from the sound spectrum.
I hope that made sense
Yes I understand that, you dont want a gap. Like having the LP at 60 and the HP at 90. But with only a 12db slope wont I get more unwanted frequencies above or below the crossover point? I'm mostly talking about the sub amp.

it depends on where you cross your frequency at to actually determine what you get and what you don't.

An example would be if you had a slope of 24db/oct and you want the bass to not play past 80hz, you can technically cross it at 80 and let it slope off that way and won't get too much of frequencies after 80 since it is just a steep slope. If you were to want the same but with the 12db/oct slope then you can just go ahead and cross it at about 63hz or maybe even lower so that the subs won't play frequencies above 80hz. So really, it all depends on where u slope it off at. And then there's always the EQ.

Disclaimer: I understand that my explanation wasn't fully accurate and has many flaws, but it is easier for me to write and i believe easier for you to understand what I am getting at. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok, I understand, that helps me out, Thanks. As far as the EQ thats my next problem, I have a mid size truck and i'm putting the amps under each seat so that leaves me with an indash 1/2 din. I was looking into an AudioControl EQ but my friend has a Four.1 and it wont fit.. It's maybe 1/16 of an inch too wide. (6.75 inches wide)

u have a EQ built into the HU? Or u could just make a custom dash for the EQ that you need
The h/u is an Eclipse CD3100 so it just has bass, mid, treble. I dont really know how I would make a custom dash. The mounting kit holds the h/u and has a 1/2 din opening that I thought pretty much any standard 1/2 din EQ would fit. I was looking at the Audio Control EQS but I dont know where I could fit that. I had the old Phoenix Gold EQ15X in the past but got rid of it and went with the old Alpine 11 band indash EQ and really liked being able to make adjustments at any time.
