Z1 has been released

i just cant believe they can charge over 1000 for a freakin screen and a dvd reader. granted it does have a harddrive (didnt see that on the spec sheet i was reading). but not adding in a simple 5band parametric (or more), and zero xovers? i mean, cheaper market hu's come with those functions.
i dont see anything worth that cost on that unit at all. the harddrive is nice, i could care less about dvd's and video (but thats not my thing). i want actual FUNCTIONs- not just slap a huge price on it because you can.

i just cant believe that its so expensive when it does not even do anything "new". get my drift?
Well, it is also a 7" screen (I've seen 2 other double-dins that has a 7" screen thus far, neither had navi), plus, like everyone else has said, dvd/navi/hdd/etc.

Also, from what I've heard, this navi software is supposed to blow all other in-dash navi units out of the water- complete voice recognition, text-to-voice prompts, 11million POI's, smart routing, and bluetooth.

Of course it's not going to cater to the audiophiles...but it will sell...

all im saying, is that it does not have enough features to be worth much more than its jensen counterpart. while i was at circuit city, we had more **** pioneer units come back that we did with jensen to be honest -_-

I think they could have supported more audio options tho for that price range. Eclipse in japan seems to blow that Pioneer away tho http://www.fujitsu-ten.co.jp/eclipse/navi/avn7905hd/index.html

ALL Japanese models kill the US models because this generation of car audio fans in the US want quantity and bling over quality.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Whenever I talk to younger guys the first thing they ask me is what kind of sub I have and how many watts I'm pushing to it. Oh and how many dbs am I hitting. They rarely ask me how it sounds.

I honestly doubt anyone buying a Z1 is buying one because they want a truly SQ-oriented radio that will have all sorts of x-overs/eq'ing/time alignment/etc.

You guys have to realize the market that this unit is catering to...

How much are NAV options in most cars anyways (as a factory option?), $1500? $2000? I doubt anyone of them have a built in hard drive for ripping upto 10GB's of music, Full iPod control, and pre outs for use with amps. It also has bluetooth for phone connectivity, which allows you to get route guidance just by scrolling through your phone book and finding the number. ALL the NAV, audio, and phone stuff is voice activated.

I travel a lot, mainly to visit friends and see sights, and navigation is definately helpful to me. I used to have an AVN5435 and it was nice, paired with an Audiocontrol DQXS it sounded amazing. I just wasn't impressed with the full navigation capabilities of the AVN. This Z1 is impressive, might just have to see what dealer cost is on it before I consider the AVN6600.

not confused.

just IMO - not worth what they want to charge. i research where im going before i drive there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Thank you. Now we know your opinion for the 44th time. You don't like the deck and how much it costs. Can we move on now.??

Any new updates on this Nav system? I too am waiting for the Eclipse AVN6600, but it keeps being pushed back...

I am, however, more inclined to SQ and this is why I am awaiting the Eclipse.

I decided that I wasn't going to bother with it. I just can't get rid of my 9255, too nice of a headunit. I'll probably just end up getting some sort of TomTom/Garmin windshield mount GPS.

However, sound feature wise, I think the 6600 will be the better option, but for better package when NAV and convenience features are held higher, that Z1 is the ticket.

I'm glad the z1 came out the the price of the orignal avc1 will go down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
