Your system....are you content with it??

I am definitely not content with what I have right now. My system is down in my sig, but as or right now I need the following

Large sub amp (Ordered: RD 3250.1)

Extra batt (Ordered: HC2400)

Deadening (Ordered: Bulk Pack Stinger Roadkill)

New Sub (Going to order: 07 RE XXX 15)

And then things like a high output alternator and a bigger mids and highs amo.

I also need to install my zapco tweets, get another set for kick pods, and then finally run active, maybe. I am fine with passive right now, in fact it works perfect for me. I am not looking for killer SQ, just something that makes me happy and can fulfill my basshead needs.
Sounds loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

No im not... I wanna put a Matching amp (p200.2) where my mtx is.. get new Door Comp speakers (tweets blown and left is crackling at hig volume) prolly just more RSDs.. I need to Deaden the doors.. I wanna get a Kenwood DDX512 Headunit.. and Get my subwoofer back in wit Plat ca and D1 coils.. Prolly

no, it seems every time that i balance one factor that is bothering me out, i find that the rest doesn't fit correctly anymore...

not to say i'm not happy with it, it does sound great, but there will always be changes. some are realistic, like a 4 channel to run active instead of 2 2 channels, and some is just lame, like wanting matching series amps, or all the same color wires...

i am very content with my system. I've had many systems but none sounded as crisp as what i have now.Currently running:

Alpine 9835

audio control 4.1

hertz mlk 165 comp's

audison lrx 2.500

2-Stereo Integrity Mag 15's sealed 5.2cf

kicker zx1500.1

i have this installed in my ford explorer and it sounds really good. I think i'll chill with what i have(although i always look in the for sale section) for awhile. Theres more than enough bass and the front stage sounds great. However if i buy a new vehicle than i will upgrade a little.

well, i'm fairly good with my acura...i'd like to add a processor so i can do t/a.

Asfar as the neon, it's an ever changing work in progress.

When i get my Yukon, that'll be a diff. story

I messed with mine once on my 800PRS. I had no idea what I was doing, so I left it alone. I might try tweaking it again in the summer.
WE will be tweaking it this summer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i dont know if im content with mine yet...why? its not installed yet

but here is what my setup consists of

pioneer 800prs (active)

id oem's

vc 100's

sundown 100.4

custom 18" nightshade (will be in 5ft^3 @32hz)

sundown 3000d ran at 1 ohm

kinetik 2400 (in back)

kinetik 1800 (under hood)

it should hopefully be all installed by the spring as michigan winters **** ecspecially with no heated garage. the only thing i have been debating is that my 100.4 wont be enough to make my oem's scream.

any input is appreciated

I always want more.

right now im wanting to upgrade my midrange.

and tune up my system possibly with an eq

want to upgrade head unit to something with more than 2v pre outs

and possibly better sound quality.

my sx handles the lows dreadfully awesome. just need everything else to be as good.

getting close. just not there yet.

Or not? What needs improvement?
I think I've FINALLY found the perfect amp combination to make my "system" sound perfect to my ears...I've been in the audio game for the last 5 years and think I've finally hit the nail on the head....I'm 100% satisfied with how my "system" sounds...

Here is what it consists of...

Alpine CDA-9855 (Active) - $170

Blaupunkt VC100 tweeters - $30

ID OEM mids - $90

Kenwood KAC-729S - $30

Autotek 300x - FREE (building box for Blados, gave me amp in exchange for labor)

Damplifier/Pro/R-Blox - $300

I've had the following amps/mids/tweeters while going active....

NINe.5

XA4000

PDX-150.4

JL 300/2

PRS Mids

PRS Tweeters

Dayton RS180 mids

And I think that's it...

The Kenwood/Autotek combo sound the best, no questions asked. Words cannot describe how surprised I am with how GREAT my front stage sounds...I'm perfectly content with no sub right now...I don't even plan on buying one in the future. For what my shit costs, it can't be beat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

For the obvious questions...

Is going "Active" worth it? Yes

Do the ID OEMS live up to their hype? - Yes

VC100 tweeters THAT good? - Yes

Deadening your doors worth it? - Yes

Once you go black, do you go back? No

What does YOUR system need that it's missing? More midbass? Smoother tweeters? More powerful amplifier? Deadening? Etc.
