Well, I want to go active but I am not sure which would be better, to replace my HU with a high end model such as the 800PRS or use my current HU and add a processor such as the RF 3sixty.2 So, which will give me more options for EQ, crossover frequencies and everything else? Any help is appreciated.

Technically they are not allowed to sell it to you unless they install it and set it up for you.

bose is right on that comment. now as for the 360.2 i'd be weary of it because of the very well known bluetooth issue. how about an audiocontrol dqxs or maybe that alpine piece. there's always zapco's dsp6 and i think 6spdcoupe can get that if there is no dealer in your area.

Totally comes down to budget. If you are looking at $400 or less than I suggest a deck.

Processors that are going to have: x-over, eq, and T/A get spendy. The Audio Control DQXS, Zapco DSP6, Rockford 360.2 and Audison BitOne come to mind. All of those are well over $500.

For the normal hobbiest I suggest the Pioneer 880/800PRS most bang for the buck. I have a Eclipse CD7200MKII BNIB box if interested which will be VERY similar to the 800prs with a few more options.

Well, I was just using examples, I am open to any and all suggestions on Processors or HUs, in about the $500-$600 range. I was considering the 800PRS, Eclipse CD7200 MKII or Alpine 9887 for HU and all of those you listed for the processor.

But, I do not use Bluetooth anyway so if I did go with the 360.2 that wouldn't be a problem for me.

when i mentioned the blue tooth if i remember right it's the only way to program the 360.2. as for hu that's all i use right now. i use the 7100 it's the same specs as the 7200 just no bluetooth and it has power in the head. going with a hu is the simplest but at the same time you won't have the "flexibility" of an out board unit.

If you are indeed using the 5900 then I would suggest upgrading the head. The Pioneers would treat you well as would the 7200MKII. I seriously do have one with the ipod controller that has a warranty that I would sell "cheap" inrespect ot retail. Adding a processor along the lines we talked about would be like putting race gas in a Cobalt if that makes sense.

I would heavily lean on the 7200 offered. Id also trust the reliability over the 800/880 anyday. No point in going any firther unless you need 4 way, then you will be adding a processor or your HU options are limited - Clarion DRZ. But if ya wanna go nuts I can offer you Pioneer ODR or Alpine F1 HU and processor. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have a really nice Crossfire Rack style crossover I'm probably gonna put for sale soon...It uses 24 db slopes along with clipping indicators a very nice and precise crossover...I would much rather have the precision of manual settings over electronic for custom sound....

As of now only 3 way total, 2 way front stage and the sub stage. And 6spdcoupe sent me the prices on the HUs he suggested, let me just say I went //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif
