Or not? What needs improvement?
I think I've FINALLY found the perfect amp combination to make my "system" sound perfect to my ears...I've been in the audio game for the last 5 years and think I've finally hit the nail on the head....I'm 100% satisfied with how my "system" sounds...
Here is what it consists of...
Alpine CDA-9855 (Active) - $170
Blaupunkt VC100 tweeters - $30
ID OEM mids - $90
Kenwood KAC-729S - $30
Autotek 300x - FREE (building box for Blados, gave me amp in exchange for labor)
Damplifier/Pro/R-Blox - $300
I've had the following amps/mids/tweeters while going active....
NINe.5
XA4000
PDX-150.4
JL 300/2
PRS Mids
PRS Tweeters
Dayton RS180 mids
And I think that's it...
The Kenwood/Autotek combo sound the best, no questions asked. Words cannot describe how surprised I am with how GREAT my front stage sounds...I'm perfectly content with no sub right now...I don't even plan on buying one in the future. For what my shit costs, it can't be beat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
For the obvious questions...
Is going "Active" worth it? Yes
Do the ID OEMS live up to their hype? - Yes
VC100 tweeters THAT good? - Yes
Deadening your doors worth it? - Yes
Once you go black, do you go back? No
What does YOUR system need that it's missing? More midbass? Smoother tweeters? More powerful amplifier? Deadening? Etc.
