Yes, ANOTHER Type R question!

Hello,

I'm doing 4 '05 Type R 12's in the back of my ex-cab silverado and I need some help with the enclosure design. I'll be building a downfiring ported box...so the questions are how big and how far off the ground should I downfire? I am going for SQL, and I've heard numorious recommendations for 2.0 per tuned to 30hz...is that correct? Oh, and for power I'll be running a RF BD1500.1 @ 2 Ohms. Thanks for all the help, Dan.

Its completely gutted back there right now, seat belts and everything. I have 60 x 22 x 23 (WxDxH) to work with.

your gonna starve the rest of those type r's with such little power...you'd be better off with a GOOD BOX and 2 12"s betcha they could get as loud then with 4 12"s and same amp.!

I dont think 100 watts under RMS is STARVING them...that amp does around 1600-1675 @ 2 OHMS

Headroom is a nice thing to have too...

I'd take 2 subs + headroom over 4 subs + feeding under rated RMS.

I honestly doubt a Type R could handle 2500 watts RMS in a daily driver.

alright then that brings me back to my original questions...what size box for SQL and how far off the ground should i downfire?

Should I just skip to the basics and just use the recommended (1.7 net tuned to 33hz) ported box size? I mean, my main goal was to get this setup to sound SQ and SPL wise like my single JL 13W6v2 (1.85 net, tuned to 30hz) did, just a lot louder. Am I headed in that direction by using Alpines recommendation?
