So i was driving playing "what you know about that" - t.i... and it kicked out... alotta smoke.. it was taking 1000rms from the nine1. fine.. until.. that song.. lol..

So i've decided to pick between..

RE SX

ALPINE TYPE X

FI Q or BL

RLP

I'm leaning towards the SX because i've never owned a RE SUB. I like what everyone's saying about the FI subs too though.. Help me out.

the RE sx would be a nice match for a nine.1. Another idea is the kicker cvx, it to handles some power and can be had for cheap.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

you clipped the hell outa that signal if it was only 1000 rms. they can handle 1500 just fine if the gains are set.

A type R on 1500 watts???? LOL, I dont think so. That is WAY too much for an R......now you see why it failed. Mechanically/thermally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

A typeRs cont. power handling is 500w.........1500w peak.........so sending it 3x its rated output is NOT a good idea at all.

Type r's can easily handle 1000watts+, get an RE SX, good subs there...

Maybe they can.....but there is noway I would run 3x the rated power to a sub. Why??......when you can just buy a sub that handles the desired wattage??

Obviously his TypeR didnt like 1500watts continuous. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yeah, my type R 15 was handling 1200rms daily, and had no problems...Everyone is speaking highly about FI, but you always see them selling them? that's one thing i don't get...I'd like to try them to see the hype, but i'd go with the SX...

like others have said the issue lies in the gain master lol

you clipped the sub to death. friend ran a 12" type r off almost 2k watts with no smell from coils or anything.

if the sub blew off 1k...its user error. i suggest adjusting gains or getting a different amp if you want more power and only then upgrade your subwoofer

Alpine Type X FTL!! Actually any Alpine sub FTL! The RE is a great sub and I think that you'll be really happy with it. Not to mention that they can take some abuse.
