xxx not what I expected

Take a video and host it. It might be the VC is missaligned. Knocked around during shipping can cause that.

How did the sub appear when it arrived? I had that makeshift wooden crate around it, but I guess it still could have gotten effed up.

If you only truly knew how UPS handled your packages:crap:

I drove by 5 UPS trucks in a 99 cent store parking lot swapping packages. They were throwing them out of the truck on to the floor. Then the other employee would take it and toss it up in to the truck on the floor. Packages were every where. On the floor of the truck on the floor of the parking lot.

Looked like a UPS destruction derby event:crap:

that's why i use dhl all the time. they are usually the cheapest and quickest and take **** good care of your goods.

i had a diamond d6 amp from AcidicDreams coming through ups; he bubble wrapped it well and filled it with those styrofoam peanuts. when i got the box, it had some "dents" (or cuts if you will) where something happened to it clearly. i always request dhl for any of my packages anymore. ups sucks monkey balls and i will never go back to them. ever.

I build a little wooden box for the sub though, so I figured that would at least prevent anything from dinging the sub.

About the Tantrum, I guess I'm just wrong. I would still like to see it wired to 1 ohm though, see if that makes a difference.

The amp is not stable at 1 ohm mono! Please do not listen to this!

I hate to say it but because that the seller appears to know absolutely nothing about car audio, I would be very worried about how he treated the sub.

sorry for sounding stupid then, but why on PG's website does it say that the tanturms are only stable at 1 ohm stereo or 2 ohm mono?

That link does not show the impedance ratings. And Im very confused how/why they would list the amp stable to 1ohm stereo when its a mono amplifier.

Im running one of my XXX's sealed with only 400 watts to it and it gets pretty loud, considering its sealed and vastly underpowered. I did notice a little lead slap when I first installed it, but I haven't heard it in quite some time now. *shrug*

As for how loud, its hard to say given the oddity of the install (stock h/u with an LOC) and the installer's aparent lack of understanding of how gains are set. And we have no idea what your expectations are. I will say this, XXX's are anything but quiet. They aren't the loudest subs out there by any means, but output is definitely not one of their short comings.

ok i heard it today and something is defenitly messed up. The install looked fine. But if he turns the sub up too much it makes a horrible noise. Its not distortion at all, but yet a high pitched pingy sound. I dont know what it is.
