I kind of expected the R to get a lot of votes because of the "hype" over it. But I did not expect the Brahma to get that many votes...I mean it seems as if the Brahma has been compared to the XXX time and time again, or am I just imagining this? I wouldnt mind doing the Magnum 15 (just depends on price and when it comes out). As no one interested in the Diamond audio D9? It looks like a d@mn impressive sub...Plus it is sort of mainstream and you don't hear tooooo much about them..

I'd like to see a tumult. It's actually Adires top of the line now, so it might be a bit better comparision, the old brahmas have been compared numerous times to the XXX>. The new Brahma is worse than the old one so it wouldn't be fair, so yeah, Tumult.

Take the eD A off the list...cannot touch the XXX in any category possible
I do not know what happened to ED while I was away from the scene but it seems as if everyone has bad things to say about them (except for their new amps). Now I have not used any of their new stuff, but the A series flat cones with the aluminum backing were some wicked woofers...The 12A of my buddies was awesome excellent SQ (as good or better then my 12xxx) with slightly less output then my 12xxx. And that was a same box same amp same car setup. Ported and sealed. I give much respect to the Flat cone A's.....And for the prices you can pick them up used now days they are a deal. I would give 200 bucks (which seems to be going rate for a flat cone 15a) for a 15a before I would give 200 for a type R.......

Not real pumped about a Brahma....

Isnt the Tumult $$$$$

For comparison review I think either 9500, Avalanche or new Magnum would be good.
I would like to fool around with the 9500...But it pisses me off they only offer in dual 4 and single 4 vc configs.....It is a bad *** looking sub though...Avalanche if I could find a good shape 15 would be a decent comparison. Strongly considering the new mag...

Yeah I wish you could get a W7 and compare them. Because that has to be one of the biggest debates that seem to pop up on this forum. If you can grab a W7 you need to grad one. Because everyone wants to know if there XXX compares to the "Beastly" W7. I'll see if I can get you one for a cheaper price but I dought I'll be allowed too. But sometimes Tweeter lets you use your employee prices if they can see the results of what your doin'!? So I don't know if it would fly. But I say the best comparison would be between the XXX and the W7.

They decreased excursion by .5mm; obviously not going to make an audible or noticeable difference. Yeah, the dropped down to a 2.5" coil (and less power handling) from a 3" coil....but, considering in most circumstances you didn't need to give the Brahma full power to extract full performance, it might not be as much of a downgrade as people think. According to Adire, the performance is right on par with the old Brahma. And yeah, I know...could just be them hyping their own product. But I trust Dan would have more integrity than that. Until it's in the hands of the consumers, I guess there's really no way to judge it one way or the other. But for now, I'll trust Dan's statements.

Well said, Squeak. I'm tired of people bashing Adire for products that they have never seen, heard, metered, tested, or even seen pictures of. I've heard things like "Yeah I like Adire, except their new line sucks" when their new line, as far as buyers are concerned, doesn't exist yet.

My vote goes for the JLW7, too many greater than, less than, or equal to talk between the W7 and XXX around here for my tastes. If Adire DOES release their new line sometime soon, then I'd definitely sugguest the Brahma III instead.

a w6 v2 pretty well dominates a xxx in sq (heard first hand ) a w7 is still king of low end so i dont get where a xxx can out due a w7 out side of COST vs output. if the guy wants if he makes a road trip up north i have access to 3 meters depending on how accurate he wants to go. 1 of those meters costs $$ to usetermlab however the 2 ac's wouldnt
