Xtant at 1ohm?

Basicly as the title says; can I run an Xtant amp at 1ohm? I want to put an Xtant amp with a 2ohm dual voice coil IDQ 10" sub, and the options are 4ohm and 1 ohm. The amp I'm looking at only puts out 125watts at 4ohms. I was liking the 250watts at 2ohms, but can't wire the sub to run at 2 ohms with two 2 ohm voice coils. I didn't see anything in the Xtant info about running at 1ohm, so I'm not sure if this will kill the amp?

Well it was on ebay. Apparently someone decided to buy it now, so I can't even bid on it. Anyway it was an Xtant 121M.

Anyway, so any Class D amp should work at 1ohm? Also how do you know if its class D or not?

well the class d topology is used for amps that usually power subs. While most class d's are capable of running in 1 ohm operation some companies choose to modify the amp to only go down to 2 ohms like the memphis mc2000...if its ran down into 1 ohm it will go into protect, a quick mod can solve this, the 2500d uses the same board and it's stable below 1 ohm so a mod to the amp would allow for 1 ohm operation, causing it not to go into protect...iono just an example of a class d thats rated at 2 ohms...but to answer your question most class d amps are stable at 1 ohm.

The 121m Dose Not Like 1 Ohm. It'll Do It For A Burp But Extended Play Shuts It Down.
