Amplifier problems... still not working after KBaudio

So i picked up a soundstream ega900d off ebay for an awesome price.. well i got it and it powered on but there was no output. I got a decent refund from the seller and got to keep the amplifier. I sent it off to kbaudio to be repaired. I get it back and hook it all back up and it powers on but when the sub wires are connected it makes a loud whine and goes into protect mode. Ive tried wiring the sub both ways. Anyone know what this could be? Is the amp still broken? Maybe a bad ground? Sorry, im a n00b

Sounds similar to what my amp was doing, emitting a high pitch frequency sort of like a TV does when you first turn it on, but louder and more consistent. I opened up the amp and it turned out to be a faulty capacitor in the low pass filter circuit. Replaced it yesterday and all is well so far.

Your problem sounds a little different though, because you don't get any output. I still had output, but with a very annoying high pitch frequency at the same time.

I imagine something inside your amp could still be bad, but can't be sure. I wonder if the people who supposedly repaired it tested it before they gave it back?

next time check out these guys. one of the members here works for them: http://www.audiotekx.com/index.html

kbaudio is shit. they repaired my tantrum1200.1 and is blew after 20 minutes. so it was sent back and they had it for a month. so we called and bitched them out and then pulled the amp back. they can't keep up with the demand. they do crappy jobs to try and get the products out as fast as possible. they went downhill way too fast.

i would either recommend that site above or sending it in directly to the manufacturer for repairs.

Thanks to DKguitarist for the link to our site.

We would love to take a look at your amp. We offer free testing, so if it was a setup issue all you would owe us would be the return shipping.

Shoot an email to our tech help address, and we will try and help you figure it out.

Either way, we will try to help you out.

they warrant the amplifier but that is b/s if i have to pay shipping again because they didnt do it right. could this be something im doing wrong? When i hook up my friends amp everything works so its probably the amp... AGAIN
