X series vs the zv4 series

Obviously one is more beefy. But honestly is it worth the extra money? I was going to stay with 18s and get zv4s. But then I thought it would be better to do 4 15s. Save space and make a more correct box. But that would put me with the x series subs. So would 4 15 x series out preform 2 18inch zv4 series?

Also open to other options of subs that will handle 8k total.

I just don't have the room for 3-4 18s

Possibly even 8 cheaper 12s

Any ideas? Or any past experience with big set ups?

Thanks in advance

The SA series does very well on the lows. The X's will do better, but hates the higher bass notes. As for the Zv3/Zv4, the Zv3 wins hands down for daily applications. It will actually take more power daily than a Zv4 will and sound **** good doing it.

Before any of you hate on that comment that is what I was told by a couple people at Sundown (about the Zv3/Zv4 thing)

I agree that the Zv3 sounds better than the Zv4 in the upper hz, and for daily music, would be better. As far as digging in the lows, that's where the Zv3 slightly falls behind.

And the Zv4's take 3.5k all day everyday. I mean myjaja is running two 3500s strapped at 1 ohm to his Zv4's daily

My girl friend has a pair of sa 12s in her car. They're under powered but I do love them for the price. They put out really well. Thing is I'm not trying to spend 2 grand on soon 4 subs. And if I get the x series or zv3/4 series. If I do more than 2 of those series I'm starting to get to the max of my budget. That's the only thing keeping me back.

But I need an amount of subs that will **** up 8k

But honestly, 8 12s sounds more bad *** then 4 or 2 of any other speaker.

Not true at all. I had a type X in IB, and the high bass note from "Wiggle" was extremely loud and clean.

Well then the real question is it worth the extra dough for the zv4 or just get xs. Or get lots of sa series subs. Was looking to spend 1500 max. Ported box. Low tuning around 28 to 32hz. On 8k rms @2ohms
