Budget Trunk: 2 12s or 1 15?

I will probably doing a trunk build in the future. I'm just looking for thoughts right now. I'm wanting to do either 2 12s or 1 15. Power will be about about 2500 or so. I'm wondering which would be the better way to go. I know the 2 12s have more cone and in theory "should" be louder. I'm also looking for opinions on what type of budget 12s that are capable of getting pretty loud. I want SPL over SQ.

i want dual 2's so tnts are out of the question. i was looking at the hds3 12s. again i would be working with budget. ill probably sell my DC and see what i can get out of it and go from there. the gcon and xfl is more then i want to spend per sub so. I know im a cheap a$$ lol

3-10's in a 4th order blow through maybe , like 7.5ft3 gross 3.75ft3 ported side with 1.8ft3 sealed at the rear subs inverted into ported chamber with an adjustable/removable ported section ?

yea im trying to do it as cheap as possible. i do like the hds3 12s for the price. i mean they 169 shipped new and will handle the power i plan on.
