x-box 360 or ps3

Old post, sorry for digging it up, but I have both the elite and ps3. Both ROCK. I like the games offered for the 360 but once the software side of the ps3 catches up, I think the sony will pull ahead... just my 2 cents.

Ouch that sucks. I have had the elite 360 for a few weeks, bought an external fan cooler for it and have fans in the entertainment center. Hopfully I can keep it alive.

I'm sure they have the bugs worked out by now, so i wouldn't worry about it.

360 > ps3better games. cheaper. better to support microsoft so sony can actually try to satisfy the customer. $600 for a console? **** off.
For what all you get, it is not cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Also the elite is close to the price of a ps3 now without even being able to play HD dvd's which you have to fork over another chunk of cash for the capability. Also had to fork over cash for a wireless adaptor for the 360. Ah well, both are stellar and microsoft does have the game advantage right now for sure.

Yes blue ray does which is one of the reasons I bought my ps3 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Not bothering with the HD dvd upgrade for the 360.

I've got a 360 and I'm very happy with it. I was considering a PS3 when I was in the market but Sony didn't seem to have too wide of a game selection. I'm sure that will change with time but even way back when, I prefered Xbox to PS2.

blue ray is pointless if you dont have a tv that can handle it, same w/ the hd/dvd, if you are letting which type of dvd it'll play be your determining factor, you are an idiot. we still dont know which format will win out in the end.

bluray is outselling hddvd like 2:1 ...its killing it in sales..just google it..and no its not pointless hd is the new thing.unless u dont have an hdtv

Both are great machines, with huge support lined up. The X360 **** ups are no worse than the shit SONY pulled with launch PS2's.

The HD battle is pointless to use as ammo. Movies are still being printed in standard DVD, and that's going to be the one selling for quite some time.

It's honestly going to be a tie near the end. The games that can be made on these machines will be nothing short of amazing. The PS3 may be more powerful, but history shows us this has nothing to do with sales. As of now, the 360 has the largest user base, along with one of the most fluid online lobby systems ever made. Developers flock to this, especially with the ease of programming the 360 has.

Devs flock, consumers flock..it's a circle.

PS3's online system isn't as streamlined as 360's, or as well maintained. The PS3, much like the PS2, is a pain to program for, in comparison to 360 and Wii.

It all comes down to games. PS3 has "Little Big World", "Lair", "Heavenly Sword"...360 has Halo3, Gears of War, Forza, Blue Dragon.

Madden and the like will grace both.

In Conclusion. Unless you are a ****-tard fanboy, who is misinformed of game development: Both consoles will be badass as hell. Both systems are produced by money hungry SOB's, both knowing how to jerk their customers off the best, or jerk them the wrong way*Sony's attitude, MS charging for downloadable 360 themes*. Buy both, be happy. Buy either one and be happy.
