i've played both of them and still can't decide which one to get.

Get both. Just get whichever one you want the most first.

Oh, and to the overheating thing. I have had my 360 vertical and horizontal, sitting beside a TV...not once has it overheated. I've ran it for 6-8 hours a few times while friends were over.

I also made sure to keep the power supply on a flat wooden surace, with no heat sources nearby. A-okay so far.

blue ray is pointless if you dont have a tv that can handle it, same w/ the hd/dvd, if you are letting which type of dvd it'll play be your determining factor, you are an idiot. we still dont know which format will win out in the end.

Well if you dont have a tv that can handle bluray/hd dvd then you probably shouldnt be buying a ps3/360
