the thing is that this market he has been selling to is dried up for the most part.. Caco smd ca.com roe etc are pretty much done on buying sundown for a few years so he has to reach a different market in the mean time.. I.E the general public that doesn't visit car audio forums and wouldn't have found sundown prior.. Not to say he still won't have a market on the forums but its saturated at the moment so he has to wait till they want the next gen stuff which the cycle can take some time.. with reselling of used amps repairing being fairly cheap etc etc..

Overall I see it as a great move.. smart in many ways.. and to say going to the mainstream means he will make crap is dumb.. could he make crap and sell it sure.. will he? time will only tell.. Image dynamics is mainstream.. zapco is mainstream. audison, hertz, etc etc are all HIGH end mainstream that don't sell crap.. do they make an affordable option for the mass public yes.. because thats their biggest target market... audio heads are far and few between that spend the kind of dough required for the expensive stuff..

In other news I found an old soundstream studio chair in the cafe at one of the schools i work it. Most random and awesome find ever. I just pray I dont end up looking back at the "old school" sundown because its the only good shit

Not exactly and equal comparison. Every company you just named is corportaion owned. Jacob would have to sellout first. I dont see that happening.

x2, I think as long as Jacob is in charge everything will stay quality built. He seems like a good guy that wouldn't take the opportunity to make more profit at the sacrifice of his company's reputation.
