I'm doing some long distance driving in a couple of weeks. The car I'll be using is a 2010 Hyundai Elantra with stock audio. I wanted to toss a small sub and amp in there for the drive, but I don't want to mess with the dash for something temporary and I know there's no RCA outs anyway.

So I need to connect the monoblock amp to the system. To turn on the amp I figure I'll just wire the BAT+ connection on the amp to the remote terminal and add a switch to it, so I can turn on the radio, then the amp, then turn off the amp when I'm done and then the radio (would that be the right order?). I'd still need to connect an input. The two amps I have up to the task are an Alpine MRP-M650 and a Kenwood KAC-9103D. Both have speaker level inputs as well as RCA. I bought both used, so I don't have the connector for the speaker level inputs, but I have enough old computer stuff around that I thought I could rig it up anyway. However, the Alpine's connection has four pins, which is straightforward, but the Kenwood's has a whopping 10! What the heck gets wired into that?

Check out page 4 of the manual:

I'm really more curious than anything else. If it's a real pain in the *** I'll either just use the Alpine or I'll get a $10 LOC:

On a completely related note, I've never used SL inputs or an LOC. Can I just tap the wires at the trunk speakers and run them to the amp?
