I bought all of these in April, through Termpro.
I bought mine before the group buy fiasco.

I heard he had a very hard time keeping up with all the orders, thus his quality suffered.

Mine has been in for a while now and just survived a 1000 mile round trip to nashville (not to mention MECA finals and all the testing i did prior to finals). I've been to 8 competitions this year and the alt has survived all of them perfectly and still charges at 14.6+.

But like i said, i got mine a while ago. Things seem to have gone downhill since then.

do you mean big 3 or stock wires?
I'll run through my issue real quick...

My truck idles at 500rpm. Nate states that his kick on at 650-700, I didnt read this. When I got it my truck was reading 11.8v at idle, meaning that the alt wasnt charging (again, my fault for not reading clearly)

Nate was nice enough to fix it and ship it back, I installed it and it reads 14.4v, ~105a at idle and 14.7v, ~240-260a at 1500rpm. But when under load it would drop to ~13v. So I upgraded the main battery to alt wire and now have no issues.

Oh and i got mine through the group buy, it works fine.

installing mine tommorrow. wish me luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif wish i didn't buy it but i'm stuck with it. i'm afraid to hook it up because i gotta drive this car 1500 miles and it better not crap out on me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i got the same one except mine is for a 96 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

mine has had a completly different problem that not even nathan has ever heard about

every time i install mine i will charge at idle and i leave the car running will i pick the tools and everything to make sure nothing change when it gets hot well

i go to take a drive and it never fails i get about a block away and it stops charging at random meaning it will charge then not charge then not its so random its like it didnt like when i gave it some throttle but then again it would also work when i gave it throttle while in park so it is very random it would make my head hurt so much

i got a 2000 chevy silverado and the alt is right on top with nothing in its way...so im assuming its very easy to change....i dont know where to buy my alt now tho after hearing that excessive went downhill.

Jntar you have a 2000+ chevy dont you, How difficult is it to change the Alt. Out on these trucks, I have an 04. Looks pretty straight forward to me, Im just not sure on how to loosen up the Belt.
I'm guessing it has some type of spring loaded belt tensioner?

I'll look for some pics.

Its a breeze.

1)Take off the intake hose that runs from the air box to the throtle body (a flathead screw driver is needed)

2)take a 5/8 wrench and pull up on the tensioner pully (if the bolt loosens you are going the wrong way), you want the pully to lraise up to allow you to take the belt off from underneath.

3)unhook the harness and power line from the alt (tape them up)

4)unbolt the alt (just the 2 bolts in front)

5)put the new alt in place (this may require a rubber mattlet to get into place (DO NOT USE A HAMMER)

6)hook up and bolt in the replacement alt

7)turn the tentioner to replace the belt (check your belt diagram on the radiator shroud to make sure it is on correctly.

Let me know when you decide to do it and I can help walk you through it if you have any other questions.
