Alright I am looking for opinions on whether or not I should use a cap with my setup. I will be running an orion 2500d to 2 12" premier 3000's @ 1 ohm around 1500 watts or more. I plan on running 2 redtops (can't afford yellows) under the hood. I am going to be ordering my wiring soon and am trying to decide which route to go. The wiring will be Stinger HPM series, because I want purple wire (Get over it).
1. My orginal idea was to run dual runs of 1/0 from the batteries back to the amp into these reducers.
There is some space in between them all, but I will grind them down some more for a little extra clearance. Also I would be putting heat shrink over the reducers.
2. If the reducer idea doesn't plan out I could either trim 1/0 to fit, or just run dual runs of 4 gauge.
3. I have a Lanzar 5 farad cap from before I started taking car audio more seriously. If I did that I would probably just go with a single run of 1/0 to the cap then 4 gauge to the amp.
So I'm looking for opinions on what some people would do and why. Thanks
Jason
