Some guy offered me $405 for a brand new in the box 18" RE MT. No doubt I would get it. Problem is the voice coils. It is DVC 2.6 I originally would have ran an Orion 2500 to it but im not sure now what amp to give it.

Would you guys take this sub even though it comes with DVC 2.6?

If he offered you $405 for it, that would mean you are trying to sell it.

its a good price, and running that 2500d at 1.3ohms will keep the amp safe and let the Sub play withen its thermal limits.

I would bet that a 2500d will do 2300rms at 1.3, as opposed to 2600rms at 1ohm.

not noticable at all, and on a meter i would suspect less than half a DB.

to compensate make the box a little larger than you were planning to, to increase the woofers efficiency

you should be fine. was this a custom made sub? i'm not familar with the MT's and that seems like an odd voice coil configuration

Never heard of this VC but I know MTs have different VC (1.7dvc)

Get a pair of strappable amps.

Was thinking about doing that with a pair of PA a3000dbs but im not sure if those are strappable.

BTW, I was told when I bought the MT I had, that I could get any VC config I wanted (but nothing too rediculous, like a 24 8 ohm config)...

Oh, thing is im not buying it from RE. Buying it off some guy that has a new one for sale.

Oh ok...wish these were DVC 2 or 1.7 (some thing like that).

i'd get it...i agree that 2300 watts to 2600 aint much difference...go for it...its got resale on it if dont like it
