would you do: 2 Shiva 12s or 1 Koda 10?

How would one RE SE 10" compare with one Koda 10" in terms of SPL? I know the Koda will probably whip it in SQ, but i wonder which hits harder considering one uses half the power and costs more.
Kyle (owner of acoustic visions who sells adire) says that the output of the shiva and koda are very similar. And i've heard from severeal people that the SE has more output than the shiva. Especially in a ported box. So im guessin that the koda will have better sq but the SE will have more output.

Now I know what you mean. I measured my trunk today with the measuring tape I had before I drove to school (where I'm at now). The lowest height was probably my rear speakers, measuring in at 18" high. Now I could remove them to possibly gain another half-inch to full inch. I won't be using them anyway. My question is: what's the smallest height box that I can make for a 15" tempest? I mean what's the total height of the outside of the box so I know if it'll fit in my trunk. Should I have a box that tilts the top of the sub back a little bit so that the sub faces a little more towards the sky and thus reduces the total height of the box?

Here's an example box of what I mean:

Sorry, I have to add some questions too.
1. nosaj070- I don't doubt you. You are taking a top-of-the-line 15 and comparing it with a cheap 12. Of course it'll sound better.

2. swimfreak26- you say you went from 2 12s sealed to one 15 ported. What 12s did you have and what 15 do you have now? Because if you bought a 15 that's much better quality, it takes away the credibility of the 12 vs. 15 debate.

3. OLD_SCHOOL- Will it sound much different in the truck of my 626? Would 1 tempest still be good? Because that would probably save some money over 2 shivas if it sounds as good as a shiva and hits harder (than one shiva, that is, especially if ported). And what makes you say to send "very little power (400W)" to the subs? Do you mean 400 is plenty for anyone or that I should play it safe and keep the power low incase I do something stupid like too much bass boost or something? Also, what music do you listen to with your shiva?

4. slick rick- what kind of box do you have your shivas in?

5. Here's a question for everyone, but aimed at OLD_SCHOOL because I know he's good with boxes and he suggested it to me: Here's my thoughts. If I go sealed, I can probably build the box myself. It can't be too hard right? I have my dad to help me. But ported boxes are a whole 'nother thing. Learning from the diagrams at RE's site, I now know what a ported box looks like, but it seems like it'd be a biotch to make. What do you suggest? I have a vague idea of how it goes together, but it looks tough. Should I just go buy some 3/4" MDF and make a weekend out of it to see what I can do?

Thanks for all your help, this is one of the most informative threads I've participated in. Now don't forget my buddy Hundreth here who asked a question before me:
1 cube stuffed each sub. its only remporary until i can put em in 1.5 per sub.
