Would you cover this wire?

Well, this comes down from the engine compartment

Then across to behind a body bushing

out from behind the body bushing and up thru the drain plug.

So only maybe two feet of exposed wire. Should I get some sort of covering for it, or is it cool just like this?

and yes its walmart schoch wire. But hell, wire is wire. as long as it carries current im a happy camper.............

i personally would find a better way to route the wire.....should be a place to run in through on the firewall

but if its staying like that, put some heavy duty wire loom on it and zip tie it up every few inches so it doesn't fall and hit any moving parts

Yeah I have not secured it yet just because it was literally a 20 minute install cause i needed it for tomorrow lol. and it is going right thru the drain plug rubber gromet, and yes it is going to say like this.

what the hell is wire loom? i was thinking more along the lines of like that plastic sheathing you can buy that you slide right over the wire.

Plenty of Zip Ties (dont need it getting caught on any moving part) and Yes I would get Wire Covering (loom) I personally would never run a exposed wire under the body. I run through the Firewall and either under the Floor Panel Covers or under the carpet if optionally available.

Well I would never do it full length either. But this was a very short distance so I'm not worried to much. I guess I should at least cover it though, thanks I will do that tomorrow.

or get a hunk of heater hose and cover it with that if this will be long term...

the insulation on that wire is plasticized PVC... not very durable.. it will dry up, crack, and absorb water/oil/whatever if exposed like that.... definatly cover it with plastic loom at least...

I havent decided yet. I can change it if I need to, but I only needed the wire for a couple of days right now so in about a week I can change it however I want again.
