Would this be a good set-up?

So right now I have a 12in sub, it sounds great but due to having a baby I now have to downgrade to a 10. I am currently looking at the sa-10 d2, ssa dcon or gcon 10, and the skar vvx 10. I will be giving 700-800 rms at 1 ohm, and the box would be 1.25 after displacement tuned to 33. Which would give me the best set up?

I don't see why you have to downgrade after having a baby..

If you need money, forget about buying a new 10" sub. I don't know what "12" you have, but if you buy a 10 after selling it, there probably won't be much money left.

If you think the 12 is too loud, turn it down.

As far as useful audio advice, I'd go with the SA. Boycott Skar..

I have a kenwood w3013 in a 2.35 custom box, my problem is the size of the box, it takes most of my trunk, I drive a 2002 sentra .. I was thinking the SA too but I just wanted to see what other ppl thought

Ok, so box size is the problem. I don't know how much you're wanting to do with your car, but you could use the 12 you have in an infinite baffle setup. It would be free, and require no space in the trunk for a box. It'll sound different than a sub in a ported enclosure and require a lot of work though.

IB isn't for everyone, just a suggestion. Good luck on whatever you decide to do

I would much rather just have a box, thats why Im choosing to use a 10, I just hope it can sound as good as my current sub

Yeah I just saw some videos on how to do it and how they sound, I dont think Id wanna take the time to do that, it does seem complicated

I had it in a sealed box but it just didnt hit the lows, right now it does bt I have to take it off:/ .. Would you take the ssa dcon 10 ported with 500 rms over the kenwood 12 sealed?
Was just thinking about it in a budget point of view but yeah low end is lacking with sealed a lot of times IMO. You can even go with an sundown SA 8/SA10 over the kenwood sub sealed and you'll have plenty of room for a proper enclosure, i'd go with 750-1000 watts rms amp though. If you want even better low end output, there's always the sundown X8/x10.

as much as I love SSA subs, the Dcon is not in the leagues of an SA, Gcon would be nice though.

The most I can give is 750 rms .. How would the sa 10 perform with that in a 1.25 ported box? I want it to get loud as well
