It will however take your personal over inflated power rating. Considering someone claiming they run 1500-2000 watts to a driver are only sending it 1/4 of that.

The Type R was very impressive ported, I will say that

However sealed, surprisingly, it was still very loud but had a much warmer sound, maybe it was a difference in installs who knows, but I didnt mind it sealed.

I do like the older SE's though, good woofas

So the overall opinion is the RE and the Alpine are decent driver. Each having their own strengths and weaknesses.

IMO the change would not be cost effective.

ive seen a type r 12 ran on an american bass 200.1 and seemed to be fine..of course with unclipped power but id say it was def seeing over 1000 watts
