Would it make a big differnce if I got a new box for this

to the OP get a Used kappa perfect they run great on 500 rms even tho only rated for 350

the Perfects are good subs too

I measured it with my DMM and I dont think its over rated by that much. Maybe a little bit

You should look into other brands of subs. I can't recall the last time I heard a good thing about MA audio. Always been mediocre. Take a look through the classifieds and you can get your hands on an SSD, BM, AQ...something of a higher caliber and a higher quality. Don't skimp on it, it will be well worth it.

my ma120qs's banged pretty hard...i mean for a 4.8 cube box ported...lol, but really they wernt that much worse than my DD512's.. but then again i did blow my MA's in like a year, they just couldn't take the rated RMS...

Ok here are my options, I tested the amp with my DMM and I do not think its over rated by that much (if any) so I have 500 watts RMS with my amp.

12" JL W3 sub 300 watts RMS $59 shipped (no box)

Rockford Fosgate DVC woofer 500 watts RMS 1000 wats max power for $75 + shipping but it comes with a sealed box)

Should I get one of those or just wait and save up for something a little better at 500 watts?
