500watts is at its best which ull rarely have under normal circumstances..id look for smthg with high efficiency, a single, and go ported...when sealed it takes more power to get the sub to move

So you would say nither the JBL or the 15, just save up and get something I could put in a ported box?

Maybe I should just save up for the rainbow front speakers I want, use this sub for now then start saving up for a new 12" at 500 RMS I could put into a ported box.

Build a ported box for the sub you have now, it not gonna cost a lot, then you save for the front speakers.

You shoudl get quite a bit more output with that sub and a ported box.

That box is prolly like 1.75 cu ft, bass is prolly a tight sounding and not boomy, a ported box for it will really bring out the lows you crave.

Personally, I would save up for some MTX 12" 5500 Thunder Series. At the moment I have them running off a JL Audio 250/1 and they pound about to up grade to the 500/1, on ebay you can get a pair of the MTX's for like 115 shipped..they are rated at like 300 rms single but 1200 together? I forgot exactly. But that is a cheap and effective way to go..You can get the 250/1 for about 220$ shipped, and the 500/1 for about 315$ shipped, Ive also got a couple suggestions to upgrade my amp because they can handle more..but just run it off a 4 gauge power wire..Also you have settings on your headunit to control your subs (if you headunit is not junk). What I do is change the EQ to rock, put loud on..doesnt have to be loud at all to feel the subs but Im working with the ported Thunder series also. Hope that helps some.
