Would a Type R work well?

Alright, i have an alphasonik PMA640HCA, which puts out 2x960wattsRMS @1ohm each. So i was thinking about getting two TypeR with dual2ohm to have both channels seeing a 1ohm load. I have room for whatever the max recommended sealed application is for the sub. However, typeR's are only rated for 500RMS, would another sub fit better in this application? OR would the extra power, and big box, just make the TypeR's WANG?

Cliff Notes: I have 2x960RMS to play with, and all the space i'll need. Would type R fit well, or another sub be better?

well he used the word "wang" and was considering a type R so loud is more important than SQ, not to say SQ is out the window. the SDC2.5 15's will get VERY loud off 900w each and still sound good doing it. the SE's will get loud as well but hte sdc2.5's will get louder according to most.

when you say 500RMS, im guessing you mean 12" or smaller type R

I've fed 12" type-R's 1krms before, and they can take it. Their sweet spot is right around 800RMS. They can easily handle more than 800, but they start to sound like ***.

So i guess the answer to your question is yes

dont seal them though. Type-R's shine when ported.

I honestly didn't know they made a 15! I'm looking for 12 or 15s that do well sealed. I want to play around with a sealed application. So HDC2.5's? Anything else look good? BTW, sound quality is somewhat neccesary. Without sounding stupid, i'm an SQL kinda guy. Which is why i'm wanting to try sealed. I want an accurate sub. but i want it to be loud too.
