would 80A agu fuse be ok?

i have 4ga power wire and both amps im wanting to run totals out to 100amp fuse. will i be fine with an 80amp agu fuse by the battery?

80A SHOULD work fine. If it's what's easily available use it. Worst case scenario - it blows and you find something bigger. I'm running ~1200w and haven't blown my 80A in 3 years.

what are the fuse ratings on your amp(s)? and what ga wire?

Add up the totals of all the fuses on your amps and that is what you need. Anything less may be prone to popping during High amp output, but this is better than too much fuse that will never blow unless you try to weld with your power lead. Ideally, your fuse will never blow because only abnormal current draw will exceed the fuses capacity. If you have amps that can draw 100 amperes of current,a nd an 80 amp fuse, you will probably pop it enough it will be so annoying you will look for the proper fuse. Try the net, there have to be online stores that can hook you up for a couple bucks.

you fuse according to wire size and with 4 gauge 80 amp should be sufficient. also those are probably peak current draws and you won't be drawing that current constantly.

My amps don't have on-board fuses.

My sub amp is an Opti 1000.1D wired at 2 ohms. Under-rated for 700w. My component amp is an Opti 100.4 bridged, rated at 180x2 tested at 253x2. Power wire is ~14' of 4 ga split to 2 ~18" 8 ga wires w/60A fuse for the sub amp 30A for comp amp.

I've even (occasionally) played with some tones right near clipping for a few minutes.

I REALLY doubt you'll have a problem with an 80A main fuse with amps fused for 100.

I know for a fact that in my area 80A agu fuses are very hard to find. I say move up to ANL fuses. There is also more growing room.
