Story of My Life...
Ok, so I have the two amps in my sig running my system, they both equal to 100 amps of current draw, my stock alternator is like 75-80 amps.
Car is a Honda Civic, and the battery is TINY (only around 525 CCA). I'm going to reloacte my battery to the trunk with a Red Top.
Here's the problem, I may get a Sundown 1000, and that has a fuse rating of 100 amps. That would equal 140 amps current draw on a 75 amp alt.
Right now, I get the slightest fain of a dim on my lights, but my voltage hardly ever drops below 13.3-.4 at idle at full tilt, and it sits and hums at about 14.1-.4 at cruise (2000+ rpm)
Will I be okay running 140 amps of current on a 75A alt with a single Red Top, or will eventually kill my alt?
