working out...

I guess this is my calling to start working out again....when I was at my prime I was benching 220 while weighing 135lbs. I still weigh around 135 but I know i've lost a lot of muscle....I **** at legs though.

 
you need to hit the free weights and barbells push ups alone won't do try pull ups also good for the bi's and lats the chest is weird i know guy's that are strong as hell in the arms and have decent size in the bi's but have a bird chest and can't bench a friend of mine is 220 6'2'' and benchs tops 250 with a hella long arm span that's a long way to go to put up weight i have short arms so it's easier to put up mass wieght + i'm built like a power lifter to start for you size that's not bad
I have a pair of 15lb barbells that I used 3 times a week. I guess I should go back to using them again. I'm gonna do some research on what to do with freeweights, because there's a lot more areas to target than just what curls do.

dumbells are nice cause you can work EVERYTHING with them get some 25s and 35s that will help out as for the legs i can't squat shit blown out knee but i can leg press a small car LOL

 
wow, keep this thread going.. I am picking up tips on how to gain weight... I've got a bench so I can bench press and do the other things on my bench... it also has a thing to work my legs. Only thing is I've never used it. I've curled my barbell before... the heaviest weight for dumbells that I have is only like 10 or 15lbs so I never use them. Anyways, help me out guys. I want to bulk up, I posted some of the equipment I have, I also have two gym memberships so I have all the equipment possible. My goal is to get up to 160lbs (from 130) in a year and get back on the basketball court. Please help me out guys.

If you want to gain weight, you are going to have to eat more. Eat a lot more. Eat until you can't eat anymore, just make sure it is healthy food.

I eat fairly healthy... I eat the right amount of fruits and vegetables every day... I always have some type of meat as my main course for supper but I never eat burgers, pizza or fast foods... I only get fast foods like once every two weeks because I may be rushing somewheres... I also drink nothing but water...

A usual day would have me eating cereal and apple with glass of milk for breakest, two peanut butter sandwiches and water for lunch, then a huge supper everday. That is alright stuff right? Also, do protein bars work... I've been eating 1 a day of them for the past week and I got a lot for free do you think they'd be good for me?

 
im sad....i just started workin out again after like 2 years. im 6'3 128 lbs (yea im a twig //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif), and when i was at my peak i could bench 140

Now when i was workin out today, i got tired after 50 pushups and my max is only 95 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif BOOO!!!

your breakfest looks good..it would be better if you eat more of a whole grain cereal instead of a sugary ones. Though i have no idea witch kind you eat but just a headsup

as for lunch, try replacing 1 of the sandwichs with somthing a bit more healthy..theres is a TON of sugar in jelly...

dinner: instead of having a enourmous dinner split it in half and eat it a couple hours later.. your body will have to work alot harder to burn that meal you just devoured

these may be alittle better tips for loseing / maintaining weight....the reasoning for eating small to med meals a day is that is keeps your matabolim balanced..(up)

No, that's not enough, not nearly enough. You should eat more than 3 meals a day. PM illzfaded, he's really good at helping people out. He'll tell you how much to eat, but I know you're not eating nearly enough, you should at least be taking in 3000 calories a day, if not more. Protein bars have a lot of sugar, I'd stick with the shakes.

 
what do yall eat on a regular? me, a bowl of cereal early in the day & then probably a number 1 from mcDonalds and that's it. I'm trying to stop "fast" food but that's exactly what it is....fast & it's "food"....
