yup. with gain and bass boost max'd. that'll sure break it in.

But seriosly I guess some will play at lower volume for a couple days or so to "loosen up the suspension" on the woofer.

personally I don't think it's really necessary. Just wire it up and bump it.

I connect the driver and play it like I normally would.

they definitely get louder when they break in but i cant usually resist in turning it up. i dont think it makes a differance.

With most subs, I would just crank em right outta the box.

With the pair of 18" Level 4 XL's I had, I took em' right out of the box, put em in a wall and pounded the **** out of them as well.

I played a shitload of chopped and screwed low stuff for the first few days, and after about 3 days the woofers loosened up a bit and you could tell it was louder..

Some say it matters, some say it dont...who cares.. lol.

Wasnt there a thread on this like 5 days ago that ran like 4 pages? The consensus generally was just play them and they'll break in on their own, you don't need to baby them. Try searching for the last thread, lots of replies, lots of opinions. You're gonna get people telling you one thing, and people telling you another, so I don't know how helpful it really is. Myself, I just let it go and eventually it loosens up and gets louder, and it's good.
