wondering about 8's

right now i have two 10 inch re audio se10d4, the good ones. i am thinking about a change up and i have seen some very impressive 8inch subs, question..can 8inch subs hit well? i am not looking to rattle windows or upset the people at the red light, i want good quality bass, i understand physics and hoffman's iron law-loud, deep, clear, you have to pick two of the 3-can't have all three. i have been looking at the tc audio epic 10's but am beginning to look seriously at the 8inch version, will these, with the proper box config, provide true deep, clear and solid bass? if not, what is a decent choice for this type of output? i have also looked at the 10inch version of the epic. i would like to go with a sealed enclosure if at all possible.

8's can do some serious work if you put them in a proper box. yeah, you won't get crazy loud but the 2 8's i ran off 600w was enough to make the doors in my suv flex on the lows. my vote is in for the DD 1508, but the sa-8 is also a good choice.

ID8D2V3's are perfect. 18mm XMax, very efficient, and get plenty loud and stay extremely musical. Toss them on 700@2 and put them in a 1.4 cube box tuned at 34Hz and you will be set.

i may just do it. no money for stuff right now but i plan on ditching the american bass 8's fairly soon cuz they are loud as **** but not very musical IMO.
